We tried three milk frothers and this £12.99 machine was by far the best

At Good Housekeeping, our cookery team has been hard at work testing those items that make life a little easier at home. They’ve already pinned down the best lemon squeezer, the handiest kitchen utensils to keep in your drawer and five essential store cupboard ingredients. Now they’ve found their favourite milk frother for all your morning coffee requirements too. The best part? The winning model is just £12.99!

In their test, cookery team Georgie and Grace, pulled together three of the most common frother types – a manual cafetiere (£89), an automatic jug (£19.95, reduced from £34) and a zippy handheld machine (£12.99). They used 50ml of oat milk for each, whizzing for 30 seconds before pouring into a glass for comparison.

With the resulting pours lined up, the winner is clear to see: Aerolatte’s To Go Handheld Milk Frother was by far the superior option, generating around three times as much froth as the others – and for a fraction of the price.

This lightweight electric whisk is designed to create creamy, frothy milk for all your cappuccinos, hot chocolates and lattes, but you can also use it for mixing your salad dressings and whipping up fluffy meringues, firmly earning it its spot in your kitchen drawer.

It’s not just us at GH who are fans, either.
